Tēnā koe e hoa (Greetings, hello to you friend),

Thank you so much for your partnership with your Christian media ministry, drawing people across New Zealand into an increasingly meaningful, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Together we have been broadcasting messages of love, hope and grace to Aotearoa, New Zealand for over 41 years, spanning six decades from the 1970s to the 2020s, and these messages are needed as much today, if not more, than they were at the beginning.

God uses your Christian media ministry to bring hope when people have been facing hopelessness, like Keanu: "Life FM has been my light when I was in prison. I was inspired by how you showed love in the three years I was in prison. Life FM kept me believing and it gave me hope, and the messages kept me strong."

This month, our nation remembers the terror attack in Christchurch a year ago and is facing the spread of a new virus for which a potential vaccine is still in development and testing. These events are real and are causing a great deal of fear and anxiety for some.

It is a natural reaction to become anxious when faced with situations that seem to be out of our control and are perceived to threaten our health and wellbeing. However, as Christians we have the peace that passes all understanding through our faith and hope in the death and resurrection of our Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ.

"Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armour and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, or the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday." Psalm 91: 1-6 (NLT)

When you think about it, your Christian media ministry has an amazing opportunity at this time to bring messages of hope right into the homes, cars and workplaces of every New Zealander.

Thank you for making it possible for this message of hope to be freely shared across radio, TV and print.

Rhema Media seeks to draw New Zealanders into an increasingly meaningful, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and impact their lives through Content and Reach: content that is engaging, relevant and biblically-based, and reach through radio, TV, print and digital platforms.

Over the last twelve months there has been growth in the number of people listening, reading and watching your Christian media ministry’s content each week, across all platforms. Life FM alone has had a 19% increase in audience, which is approximately 21,000 more people.

The opportunities before your Christian media ministry in 2020 are exciting, including some special programming around the election and associated referenda. We are so very thankful for your partnership in this Christian media ministry.

You enable all the resources that make it possible, from a team of talented people, to the frequencies and transmission equipment that are all essential in drawing people into relationship with Jesus Christ through Christian media. We cannot do this without you. Thank you again for partnering with us.

God Bless,

Andrew Fraser

Chief Executive

PS. Last month we mentioned that Rhema Media’s normal income level had not kept pace with increasing programming, transmission facilities and digital media developments costs and we were operating in deficit. To date the response has been most generous but we are not quite back in the black yet. If you would prayerfully consider providing additional financial support at this time, it is not too late to see your Christian media ministry start the new financial year in a strong position to continue impact people in the name of Jesus Christ through media.

PPS. We’d like to ensure that everyone who intends to claim a tax rebate on their donations made in the current financial year is able to do so. This means, to be eligible for inclusion in your 2019/20 tax receipt, all donations must reach us before Tuesday 31st March 2020. Remember, it is possible to claim 33.33% of your donations back (see ird.govt.nz for conditions).
