Thank you for being part of Rhema Media’s story and for keeping messages of love, hope and grace covering Aotearoa, New Zealand.
In early June this year Bob Gass passed from this earth into the glorious presence of God. While we will miss having him with us, we will continue to have the benefit of his writing in The Word for Today for many years to come. Please keep Debby and their family in your prayers as they adjust to this new phase of life.
‘For we don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves. If we live, it’s to honour the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honour the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Christ died and rose again for this very purpose - to be Lord both of the living and of the dead.’ Romans 14:7-9
Recently some of the Shine TV team travelled through the North and South Islands to capture video of our stunning country and meet with some of our Shine viewers. We just love to meet with supporters and audiences and hear their stories.
One photo, of some of the team praying with an avid Rhema listener and Shine TV viewer in her home, really captured for me the amazing privilege that we have through media to bring Christ’s love right into people’s living rooms. This picture of Erica from Wanganui sitting in her living room with two of our team holding her hands and praying together, is a physical representation of the reach and impact of your Christian media ministry’s broadcasts.
You can watch Shineathon during the week of 19 - 23 August to hear many moving stories from Shine TV viewers, like Erica’s. Erica also wrote in to us about how she blessed others using The Word For Today:
After hearing of Bob Gass’ passing, Erica wrote in: ‘Five churches in Wanganui would put on a cooked meal, Monday to Friday, called ‘Friendship Lunches’... I found myself, more and more, sharing from The Word For Todaybefore each meal. The day’s word was always appropriate for somebody - it didn't matter what date was at the top of the page. I know I got a lot out of them as well. I think now of the hundreds of people we fed, and still do, but that they were being fed in other ways by God’s Word, through Bob Gass. He will be sadly missed - his love for God was big, his heart was big and he had a big ministry. There will be a party going on in Heaven for him. I look forward to the day when I can shake his hand, give him a big hug and say “thank you” for all the times he lifted me up.’
On 6 September your Christian media ministry will be holding its Annual General Meeting. If you are able to attend we would love to see you. If you are not in Auckland we will be streaming the meeting live from the Rhema Media website so you can still be part of the meeting.
Thank you for your prayers for this ministry and this nation. Together, with Christ, we can impact this nation for good.
