Tēnā koe e hoa (Greetings, hello to you friend),

You are a blessing to so many people. Every day God is reaching people through your Christian media ministry, bringing peace into their lives and hope into their circumstances. Recently Nirmala got in touch to share her story:

"I would like to thank Rhema from my heart. Rhema has been a great companion for me, and given me a new hope through the word of God. I was lost but now I am found. I never could have grown so strong on my own, but listening to Rhema every day has made me a person to trust in my Lord and myself. Thank you so much."

Because of you people like Nirmala can face another day, being reassured of the faith, hope and love they have in their personal saviour, Jesus Christ, via the trustworthy content that reaches them through your Christian media ministry.

‘For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.’ 2 Timothy 4:3-4 NLT

These are exciting and challenging times we live in; never has there been the ability to communicate so quickly with so many people. However, this is a double-edged sword, as the ability for so many individuals, as well as organisations, to get their message out means there is so much news, information and entertainment available. It is hard to know who you can trust.

This month is the 41st anniversary of Rhema being a permanent, trusted source of life-giving, uplifting, eternally-focused media in New Zealand. Today, your Christian media ministry has the same desire and commitment to reach everybody in New Zealand with the love of Christ as it did in 1978.

Because of your incredible support, today your Christian media ministry not only uses radio. It also uses: TV, mobile apps, streaming audio and video, social media, podcasts, printed publications and video on demand. However, the driving desire of all involved is the same as it was over 40 years ago.

Richard Berry, founder of Rhema Media, once said that this organisation " God reaching people through people. His love, once born in our hearts, reaches out to others... it’s the desire for people who have found Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord, reaching out to other people in this land to tell them the Good News that Jesus saves."

Today your Christian media ministry’s purpose is ‘to draw New Zealanders into an increasingly meaningful, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.’ Another way of expressing this is ‘to encourage people to take their next right step in their journey of faith.’

As Christmas approaches, and a new year in 2020, there are many great programming and other initiatives planned. There is still a lot of hard work progressing a new Life FM broadcast in Wellington, and there is more digital content coming including new podcasts, websites and mobile apps.

With 2020 being an election year, including referenda on major social changes, work is happening on programmes and content that will inform and challenge all of us on seeking God’s heart in the decisions we make. Please join with praying for New Zealand and seeking to keep God’s blessing on this nation.

With all programming and content we ask the question, ‘Where is Jesus in this?’ During this busy end of the year time, as you go about your daily activities and prioritise your days, maybe you would like to pause and ask the same question, ‘Where is Jesus in this?’

We hope and pray that as you tune in to and share your Christian media ministry’s programming, you would be encouraged and strengthened in your walk with Christ.
